USD/CAD HOLDS GAINS NEAR 1.4450 ON TRUMP'S REMARKS ON TARIFFS
USD/CAD held near 1.4445, up 0.94% in Tuesday’s Asian session.
Trump suggested imposing 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico in February.
The Canadian Dollar weakened due to Trump's remarks on tariffs.
Later on Tuesday, Canada’s December CPI inflation data will be released.
Canada’s CPI is expected to show a 1.8% increase YoY, slightly lower than the previous 1.9%.
If inflation is higher than expected, it could strengthen the Canadian Dollar and limit the USD/CAD rise.
