PBOC SETS USD/CNY REFERENCE RATE LOWER THAN EXPECTED
The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the USD/CNY reference rate at 7.1883 for today.
This is significantly lower than the market estimate of 7.3240.
The PBOC uses a managed floating exchange rate system, allowing fluctuations within a +/- 2% band around the reference rate.
