INFLATION IN GERMANY INCREASES AND EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS IN OCTOBER

Germany’s inflation rate in October was higher than expected:

Annual inflation slowed to 2.0%, but exceeded the expected 1.8%.

This is the lowest inflation rate since February 2021.

Core inflation (which excludes certain volatile items) rose more than expected:

It reached 2.4% in October, while expectations were 2.1%.

Core inflation was 1.8% in September.

Monthly changes:

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.4% from September to October.

This monthly rise was higher than the 0.2% that analysts had expected.
